The excellent range in round two of the Rip Curl E-Pro online

There were a few waves in the excellent range in round two of the Rip Curl E-Pro online surf tournament currently taking place, as well as a number of other quality rides. Top round two surfers Josh Redman and Billy Payne both revealed excellent barrels, one from the east coast and the other from the west coast, for top scores. 

The only surf event of any sort taking place this year for South African surfers, the Rip Curl E-Pro has been well received by surfers and spectators alike. The Rip Curl E-Pro has been supported by Surfing South Africa, the governing body of the sport, from the outset. South African surfers, South African waves.

There is R10k for first place among the men, R10k for first among the women, the R10k Red Bull Best Tube Award, and Oakley eyewear to the value of R10k. The winning male surfer and his videographer, as well as the winning female surfer and her videographer, will win a pair of Oakley sunglasses each.

The first heat saw Josh Redman from Durban jump into the lead with a solid east coast barrel. He was followed by Manoa Robb in 2nd, Dan Emslie in 3rd and Ari Kraak in 4th. Bowing out of the tournament was Luke Thompson in 5th and Tom Lindhorst in 6th.

In the second heat Billy Payne from St Francis Bay got first with a solid west coast bomb. He was followed by Eli Beukes, Luke Slijpen in 3rd and Joshe Faulkner in 4th. In this heat, Luke Van Wyk and Simo Mkize were eliminated in 5th and 6th place respectively.
