Who is surfing?

The the best contest- and free-surfers from each country can compete from their own home breaks. They are able to showcase their best performances without travelling anywhere, giving opportunity to anyone that has an impressive surfing, no matter his sponsors, image, social media or any support. Performance is all that counts.

How it works?

Each individual international event is run over a two week period, with the best surfers in the country participating in elimination rounds. The heats are structured in traditional professional surf competition format and competitors submit a single wave clip per heat. The published waves must be from the country of the event, have a maximum size established and have been surfed during a specific period.

What is the judging format?

To determine who advances in the competition, the jury is made up of fans who vote through social media together with four professional judges who will score each wave on the current criteria of the sport.

Who is behind it?

Surf Web Series is a platform chaired by surfing legend Gary Linden. Together, with Surf Open League, they have launched the first online world surfing championship.
