Surf Web Series (SWS)—the online surfing world championship—is thrilled to partner up with Red Bull Chile to present the TUBE AWARD of the E-Pro Chile. The third stop on an international tour designed to adapt to the times during the COVID-19 pandemic, surfers battle it out over the internet to determine a surfing champion. The top talent in the wave-rich South American country sent us their best clips from recent months of swell at home. Luckily for Chileans, their coastline is expansive and limitless when it comes to pristine left hand point breaks, punchy beach breaks, and heavy slabs. The footage submitted made for a tough decision.
A judging panel of competitive surfing professionals (Gary Linden, Rodrigo Gallegos, José Ramírez Rito, Miguel Ramírez) reviewed the clips to cast their vote, and then we turned to the fans for the final decision. After tallying the votes, the winning four surfers were: Nicolás Diaz, Christopher Herold, Cristian Merello, and Guillermo Satt.
Red Bull will award a photo and film session to these top four finishers of the contest bringing them together to an undetermined location in the 2021 season for an epic barrel session. Location will be determined based on conditions, swell, and weather charts. This dream surf session includes: a transfer from Santiago to the defined location + food + photographic and audiovisual recording + support of Red Bull motorcycles in a unique experience that only Red Bull can give you.
