We live in a transcendental moment with great challenges. Due to current restrictions, high-performance surfers have suffered a great physical, mental and financial impact without their main sources of income in competitions and sponsorships. With the purpose of promoting professional surfers, diversifying their economic possibilities and adapting to the new reality, Surf Open League presents "Surf Web Series", an international online surf league with competitions in which surfers can participate by sending their videos without having to leave home where they can promote their free surfing shots, win cash on prize money and continue to advertise their sponsors. Surf Web Series is a professional and democratic surf development platform that is set up to create opportunities for any talented surfer to develop as a professional athlete and conquer the world.

LET'S KEEP SURFING ONLINE

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
The competition system is similar to a typical onsite event where each surfer participates with his videos showing his best performance in specific categories such as giant waves or normal size waves. The top spots advance to the next round and they must submit a different video. The waves are published through our platforms where a panel of four international judges are in charge of judging the athletes with a fifth judge who is the public. The strategy remains important in this event since the surfer must choose his waves well according to his opponents and in the round he is in, since he cannot run out of his best wave for the finals or risk saving them for the finals and not pass their round. The winners of each heat are announced live. During the quarantine where surfers cannot be recorded on specific waves or similar waves, they can send any video made in their country filmed in a specific period of time for the recording of the wave. The performance analysis will be adapted to each specific condition. The league is held with national stages in different countries with a big international final with the best ranked in each country. After the liberation of social distance restriction and international travels, the league will develop stages on specific beaches where surfers will have a defined period to travel to a host beach, recorder and send the shots of their performance in those waves, looking to promote the post-contingency surfing tourism industry in different points around the world.
